Social Events

Social Events between meetings can range from sporting events, live theatre, travel, visits to places of interest, to any other activity that the Social Committee wishes to organize. These are usually one time events, one per month generally, but you can participate in as many events as you wish!

Please bring your chequebook with you to the monthly meetings to sign up for the events.

Sunday, February 9th – Herongate Theatre presents “The Love List” – Cost $64

It’s funny, sophisticated and sexy with just enough edge to keep you nailed to your seat! For his 50th birthday, Bill, a lonely Statistician is given a free session at a mate finding service. After drawing up a list of ‘qualities’ for the perfect woman he soon discovers ‘Be careful what you wish for’…the old adage leads to hilarious results!

Thursday, July 9th – Keewatin Tour – Cost $99

 

Keewatin was one of six ships owned by Canadian Pacific Railways to sail the Upper Great Lakes. Begun in 1883 to link the eastern and western railheads, this line of ships populated the west and was specifically responsible for the economic development of Alberta and Saskatchewan that brought those provinces into Confederation in 1905 by providing vast numbers of immigrants plus equipment and supplies, and carrying millions of tons of grain to market in the east on their downward trips. S.S. Keewatin began her service in the Canadian Pacific Railroad Great Lakes Steamship fleet in 1907. Built in Glasgow, Scotland.
